The first day of the school year is just one week away! Enjoy this last week of summer, Burros. We can’t wait to see your smiling faces!

Burro Blitz (Back-to-School Orientation)
Make plans to attend Burro Blitz this Friday, August 1st. 9th and 10th graders and families come between 9:30 and 11:30 AM; 11th and 12th graders and families come between 12:45 and 2:45 PM. Students can pick up schedules, meet teachers and admin, get laptops, request parking passes and lockers, and more! Families can update contact info, sign annual MNPS forms, meet teachers and admin, volunteer with the PTSO, and buy HHS merch!

Sign the family up for a shift (8-10 AM or 10-noon) and let’s give campus a bit of a glow up before the first day of school. A variety of tasks are available, inside and out.

Time is running out, Burros! Click HERE. Summer assignments for IB, AP, and a few honors level courses are now live. They are linked on the page above, or you can click HERE to go straight there.

A Little Light Bookkeeping
Is your subscription to the PTSO newsletter up to date? If you have multiple kids at Hillsboro, and one of them just graduated, make sure your other kid’s class is selected so you’ll keep getting the news. If you have a new 9th grader starting this fall, you’ll need to add them to your subscription so you will get any targeted news just for 9th grade families. Now is the perfect time to check and/or update your subscription status. Just scroll to the bottom of this email and click “update your preferences.” This will take you to a page where you will click “Email Me A Link.” Once you receive the email, you can follow that link and scroll to the section that says “Select Your Group(s) for 2025-26” From there, you can choose whatever group(s) you want to receive emails for. You can also choose your student’s academy, but the most important thing is to make sure your student’s class is selected!
