Burro Bash Is Today!
Come out this afternoon for our back-to-school party, Burro Bash, which will also serve as a tailgate before the football game against Kenwood High School (get your game tickets HERE!). The bash will be from 4:30 to 6:30 PM, and kickoff is at 7:00. There will be a clubs fair, games, and other fun surprises, so be sure to come out!
Parents, this event is a bit of a heavy lift. Drop by the PTSO table any time between 3:30 and 6:30 this afternoon and let us know you’d like to lend a hand.

August PTSO Meeting
Please make plans to attend our first PTSO meeting of the year on Tuesday, August 26, at 6:00 PM in the cafeteria. Attending these meetings regularly gives you a chance to meet and chat with other parents, learn what is happening at school, and get facetime with attending admin and faculty!

Cookie Fridays Are Back!
This year, we will be carrying on the tradition of giving out cookies to the students on Fridays during lunch for the “price” of telling us something good about their day. Handing out cookies is a great way to get to know the students, and if you can’t come during the day, donating cookies/treats is a great way to help ensure that this beloved Burro tradition can continue! Jeni’s Ice Cream Spirit Night
On Monday, August 25, from 3-6, head to Jeni’s in 12 South and grab a scoop or two. 25% of each scoop sold will be donated to the PTSO. Get the special BURRO CONE, available only on the 25th, with a scoop of Dark Chocolate and Double Dough. (And let’s make some DOUGH for Hillsboro!)

Student Involvement at Hillsboro
The time to get involved in a club or sport is NOW! Information about cross country and swimming can be found below. Most teams and clubs will have a table at Burro Bash; you’ll be amazed at the number and variety of opportunities available to your student! Speaking of Teacher Faves: Chili Lunch!
Mark your calendar now for our annual teacher appreciation chili and soup lunch on October 29! Just in time for Halloween, we look forward to providing the faculty and staff with a delicious lunch of homemade chilis, soups, and extras like cornbread, salad, and dessert.
