INVEST Update

The PTSO’s INVEST campaign has raised $37,544 so far, and we are so appreciative of all who have donated! We still have quite a ways to go to achieve our goal of $100,000, so we are asking for donations from parents who haven’t given yet. As a reminder, the money raised makes a number of things possible for our students, such as senior banners, student celebrations and events, support for extracurricular activities, academic support, teacher appreciation, and so much more. Family Night & College Fair

Mark your calendar and spread the word! On Thursday, October 9, 4:45–6:45 PM, Hillsboro invites students and families from our school partners for fun, resources, and future opportunities!

4:45 PM – Community Trick or Treat
5:00–5:45 PM – Financial Aid Information Session
5:45–6:45 PM – College Fair (20+ schools represented)
7:00 PM – Hillsboro vs. Lawson Football Game

This event is a great chance for students to connect with college recruiters, explore options for the future, and get important information about paying for college. Families can enjoy the trick or treat activities before joining us in the gym for the college fair, then stick around to cheer on the Burros at the football game!

We need some parent volunteers to help with the college fair (setup and cleanup, primarily). Please click HERE if you can help, and thank you!

McDougal’s Fundraiser Night 9/25

Take a break from cooking dinner (is that still EVERY night?) and head over to McDougal’s on Thursday, September 25 (Nashville or Brentwood) for some delicious chicken fingers and wings! Our thanks to McDougal’s for donating 20% of that day’s sales when you mention HHS PTSO.

September PTSO Meeting

Join us at our next PTSO meeting on Monday, September 22, at 6:00 PM in the cafeteria.

Blood Drive
AGHS is hosting a blood drive at school on Wednesday, September 24, and Thursday, September 25, 8 AM-1 PM. Anyone 16 or older can donate—students, teachers, parents, community members. Sixteen-year-olds must have their parent/legal guardian sign a consent form. For more information or to schedule an appointment online, click HERE.

Picture Day
9th, 10th, and 11th graders will have their school pictures taken on November 4 during ELA. Click HERE to download a flyer about how to order your portraits. (Also, seniors, please remember to schedule your senior portraits session if you haven’t done so already! Your flyer is HERE and pictures will be taken October 1-3.)

Parent Tour Guides Needed
It’s time for prospective families to tour Hillsboro, and we need your help! Sign up HERE to help lead a Saturday tour. Don’t worry if you aren’t very familiar with the campus, you’ll be accompanied by a very knowledgeable student volunteer who will do most of the talking, and we’ll provide you with talking points and suggested tour stops.

Teacher Appreciation Chili/Soup Lunch
Mark your calendar now for our annual teacher appreciation chili and soup lunch on October 29! Just in time for Halloween, we look forward to providing the faculty and staff with a delicious lunch of homemade chilis, soups, and extras like cornbread, salad, and dessert. The teachers love this lunch every year, so start thinking now about what special dish you might like to bring. HERE is the sign up if you want to get a jump on things, and thank you!

Cookie Fridays
This year, we are carrying on the beloved Hillsboro tradition of giving out treats to the students on Fridays during lunch for the “price” of telling us something good about their day or week. Just a reminder that we want everyone who wants to participate to have that opportunity, so please sign up for a maximum of two “handing out cookies” slots per semester.
