A Message from MNPS

We know that the recent federal government shutdown has impacted some families who rely on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Nashville Public Schools is working closely with the Mayor’s Office and community partners to connect families with resources to ensure no one goes without food or essential support during this time.

If your family has been affected, there are multiple programs available, including food distribution sites, nutrition assistance, and transportation support. You can find up-to-date information and details about these resources on the Mayor’s Office website: nashville.gov/foodinsecurityresources

For those who would like to help those in need, there are opportunities to donate time, money, or goods listed on the website.

Thank you for supporting one another as we navigate this challenge together.

School Start Times

Nashville Public Schools, in partnership with Mayor Freddie O’Connell’s Office and the Metro Nashville Board of Education, is conducting a districtwide review of school start and end times to better align with student well-being, family needs, and transportation efficiency. This process is just beginning. No decisions have been made. The goal is to gather feedback, data, and community input to make informed decisions about potential changes that will be considered in the early part of 2026. For more information and to learn how you can make your voice heard, click HERE.
