Model UN Wrapup

Click HERE to read a summary of our amazing MUN team’s performance at Model UN. We are so proud of them!

School Start Times

Our school board rep (and Hillsboro parent) Erin Block shared some information about the ongoing school start times discussion at the PTSO meeting last Wednesday. MNPS is currently gathering feedback, data, and community input to make informed decisions about potential changes that will be considered in the early part of 2026. There have already been some community town halls (virtually), and Erin hopes to host a meeting at Hillsboro at some point. For more information and to learn how you can make your voice heard, click HERE.

Volunteers Needed

  • Workers are needed for concessions AND spirit wear sales during every home basketball game this season, so please click HERE and sign up for a shift if you can! (If you are the parent of a Hillsboro athlete, your volunteer shift counts toward PTSO support of your child’s sport (senior banners, access to Burro athletic funds if needed). Plus, it’s fun!)

  • Every year before winter break, the teachers make a pancake breakfast in the hallways of Hillsboro for the students. The students love this tradition! We need parents to help out on December 12! Click HERE if you can help, and thank you!

Career and Technical Education (CTE) Assessment Questionnaire

MNPS conducts a biennial Career and Technical Education (CTE) Comprehensive Local Needs Assessment (CLNA). The CLNA is intended to inform and involve stakeholders as active co-creators of CTE policies and programs within the district. This questionnaire seeks input on CTE weaknesses, strengths, opportunities, and barriers so that the district can improve the way students are provided with opportunities to develop the academic, technical, and professional skills they need to prepare for college and success in careers in high-demand fields.

The district is asking stakeholders, including parents, to complete the questionnaire at this LINK. Thank you!
