School Start Times

…Speaking of 7:05 AM, did you see the communication from MNPS that they have narrowed the options for school start times down to three? Click HERE to read about the three models being considered and to learn how you can participate in this district-wide discussion. In addition to virtual meetings, there will be an in-person town hall meeting at Sevier Park Community Center on Wednesday, January 7, from 12:00 to 1:00 PM.

Spring Semester Fundraisers

Mark your calendars for these upcoming Hillsboro PTSO fundraisers! Thanks so much to these businesses for supporting Hillsboro:

  • Little Gourmand on January 24
  • Green Hills Grille on March 2
  • Sage Refill Market on April 18

Volunteer Needs

Workers are needed for concessions AND spirit wear sales during every home basketball game. Please click HERE and sign up for a shift if you can! If you are the parent of a Hillsboro athlete, your volunteer shift counts toward PTSO support of your child’s sport (senior banners, access to Burro athletic funds if needed). Hot tip: corral a few of your friends and sign up to work a shift together!

Volunteers are also needed to bake/purchase and hand out cookies and treats at the Friday Cookie Table during lunch this semester! Click HERE to sign up for a shift or to donate a batch or two of treats (the sign up contains dates for the whole school year, so scroll down to find second semester). Handout slots fill up quickly, but we always need more cookies, so please consider donating to keep this beloved Hillsboro tradition going strong!

Become a Host Family for an Exchange Student

Have you ever considered hosting an exchange student in your home? When you become a host family, you invite the world into your home and community. Hosting brings people from different parts of the world together to share their language, culture, and traditions. It is an opportunity to expand your horizons and discover the world without the need to travel long and far. Click HERE to see a few profiles of students who are interested in spending time here in Nashville.

Families that are interested can visit THIS LINK to learn how to apply to become a host family. If you have any questions or just want more information, please email Alejandra Vargas, STS Foundation: alejava1008@gmail.com.
