Looking Ahead to Next Year’s PTSO

Parents, our PTSO helps make Hillsboro the amazing school that it is. We are so grateful to all the parents who volunteer to help out, whether it’s once a semester or every week! Please consider being part of the PTSO board next year. It’s such a fantastic way to get connected with the school and stay informed about what is going on. Registration Nights

Registration night for rising 10th through 12th graders and their families will be held on Thursday, January 29.

5-6 PM: Academy Showcase for current 9th graders

6-7 PM: Presentation on 2026-27 course offerings and registration process followed by Q&A

On Tuesday, February 10, there will be an Academy & Program Showcase for rising 9th graders and their families beginning at 5:00 PM, followed by a presentation and course registration for those who are zoned for/planning to attend Hillsboro next year.

Spring Semester Fundraisers

Little Gourmand (We hope to reschedule this fundraiser; both Little Gourmand locations will be closed tomorrow due to the anticipated winter storm.)

Spring Sports Tryouts

Volunteer Needs

Workers are needed for concessions AND spirit wear sales during every home basketball game. Please click HERE and sign up for a shift if you can! If you are the parent of a Hillsboro athlete, your volunteer shift counts toward PTSO support of your child’s sport (senior banners, access to Burro athletic funds if needed). Hot tip: corral a few of your friends and sign up to work a shift together!
Can you bake/purchase and/or hand out cookies and treats at the Friday Cookie Table during lunch this semester? Click HERE to sign up for a shift or to donate a batch or two of treats. Handout slots fill up quickly, but we always need more cookies, so please consider donating to keep this beloved Hillsboro tradition going strong!
We need parents to help give Saturday tours of Hillsboro over the next few months. Sign up HERE if you can help us show off this awesome place! (Note: the tour scheduled for Saturday, January 24, has been postponed until the following Saturday, 1/31, due to weather concerns.)

Screenagers Under the Influence

With gratitude to our middle and high School PTO collaborations, the most recent Screenagers film, Screenagers Under the Influence, will be presented at Hillsboro on February 2 at 6:30 PM. It tackles social media’s effect on our kids as it pertains to the marketing of drugs and other alcohol, including vaping.

Everyone is welcome, and parents of middle and high school students are encouraged to attend with their kids. Parents of younger students can watch the trailer HERE to determine whether this film is appropriate for your family.

Greece Trip 2027

Do you have the travel bug? If so, consider joining Burro students and teachers in Greece in May of 2027. Please contact Mrs. Banks (lesa.banks@mnps.org) if you are interested.
