It’s time to reserve your moment in the spotlight! The Hillsboro Getdown (Friday, November 17, at the Vinyl Lounge) will feature karaoke with a LIVE BAND. To get on the set list, submit your song choice to getdownband@att.net. Your email must include (1) the names of everyone performing and (2) a YouTube link or mp3 of the exact version of the song you want to sing. The submission deadline is October 27, but don’t delay. You don’t have to get up on stage to enjoy this fun event, of course. Information about purchasing tickets is coming soon.

Do You Know About These Two Tutoring Opportunities?
MNPS is starting a new tutoring and enrichment plan called Enriching Scholars. This is specifically for students who may be struggling or not yet at expectations in Integrated Math 1 and English 2. A few notes about this program:
- It meets at Hillsboro two Saturdays per month from 9 AM to 12:30 PM (except for November and March), starting September 23.
- The dates for the program are set by the district and are not flexible.
- This is drop in, so students can attend the days that they are able, although the greater the attendance the greater the impact.
- MNPS provides yellow bus transportation for students who are in zone and eligible for school-provided transportation during the week.
- The school will provide both breakfast and lunch on these days.
- Students will receive targeted, face-to-face intervention from a certified math/English teacher.
- Students who attend will earn points for our new incentive program, The Burro Incentive Shop.
- There is no cost to families who participate.
Seats for this program are limited, and are prioritized for students who are struggling, or have yet to demonstrate meeting or exceeding the standards for the Integrated Math I and/or English 2 curricula.

Students who need some extra help with their homework in any class can attend Overtime, which meets right after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the library. This year, there is no need to sign up, and, as always, there is no fee to attend.
