School News & Information from the Hillsboro High School PTSO
Hillsboro will be offering two FAFSA workshops next month – November 7 from 7:00-2:00 and November 19 from 5:30-7:30. Financial aid experts will be on hand to help you fill out your FAFSA and to answer questions about state and federal financial aid (including grants, loans, HOPE, & TN Promise). US Community Credit Union Academy of Business and Communications:
McNeely, Pigot and Fox Strategic Communications Firm will engage with our students in the Marketing Management program of study offering guest speakers, job shadows and internship experiences.
Academy of Global Health and Science:
Vanderbilt University Medical Center will engage with our students in the Sports and Human Performance and Therapeutic Services program of study offering guest speakers, field trips, job shadows and weekly tutoring sessions for the Certified Clinical Medical Assistants industry certification exam.
TN Area Health Education Centers at Meharry Medical College will engage with our students in the Sports and Human Performance and Therapeutic Services program of study offering guest speakers, field trips, job shadows and assisting with the HOSA club competitions.

Check it often and sign-up regularly! Volunteers need to have a background check to volunteer at school events. If you have not already completed a background check this year, click on this link and choose “All Other MNPS Programs” for the volunteer role and “Hillsboro High School” as the school. On Tuesday, August 27 at 5:00 PM (before the school-wide open house), football players and families are invited to come meet coaches, players and other parents, get schedules, sign important papers, and more. Light refreshments will be served. Flyer below with more information. Go Burros!
All year long, a number of the nation’s best colleges visit Hillsboro to meet with prospective students. Registering for each visit is required, and interested students should first research the college online to see if it holds the course work they are interested in pursuing.
