Hillsboro High School proudly upholds a strong belief in "IB for All." We are honored to continue our twenty-year legacy of offering three open-access IB programs, welcoming students of diverse academic backgrounds without the requirement of a minimum GPA or test scores. Our students, representing AIBDP, AGHS, and USCCUAIBC, successfully passed a total of 240 subject tests. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to A. Mammo (under the guidance of Mr. Shager) for achieving an A on the Extended Essay. Special recognition also goes to A. Boyd (under Madam Batey's instruction in French AB SL), S. Sanders (under Mrs. Headley's instruction in Spanish B HL), and C. Sullenberger (under Mr. Nettles's instruction in Language and Literature HL in English) for earning a perfect score of 7 on their External Subject Area Exams. Additionally, congratulations to C. Sullenberger (under Ms. Carr's instruction) for achieving a perfect A in Theory of Knowledge. Hillsboro is exceptionally proud of our Spanish B HL students and their teacher, Mrs. Headley, for outperforming the global average on the External Exams. Hillsboro High School is thrilled to announce that many of our 2024 graduates successfully met the requirements to earn the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBDP) or the International Baccalaureate Career-related Certificate (IBCC)! Students who earn the IB Diploma must achieve an average score of 4 (on a scale of 1 to 7) on both internal and external assessments across six subject areas: English, World Language, Mathematics, Science, History, and the Arts. Additionally, they must complete a 4,000-word research-based Extended Essay on a topic of their choice and engage in eighteen months of self-selected experiences as part of the Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS) component.
Congratulations to our IB DIploma recipients for the 2023-2024 school year!

To obtain the IBCC, students must achieve an average score of 3 (on a scale of 1 to 7) on internal and external assessments in at least two of their chosen IB Diploma Programme courses. In addition, students engage in the Personal and Professional Skills course, which integrates academic subjects with career-related learning. As part of the program, students write a 3,000-word Reflective Project on an ethical dilemma of their choice, complete a world language portfolio for the Language Development component, and gain practical experience by completing 50 hours of self-selected service activities through the Service-Learning component.
Congratulations to our IB Career-related Certificate recipients for the 2023-2024 school year!
