Model UN

This past weekend, 50 Hillsboro students and advisors attended the 3-day Model United Nations conference in Murfreesboro.  Our students got to experience what its like to be a delegate in the United Nations. A new Hillsboro High School record was set when the resolutions of 11 teams made it past the first round (called Committees) on Friday, into the second round (called General Assembly) on Saturday.  Hillsboro students Jonah Lehmann and Carl Schmidt won the “Outstanding Delegate” award, while Avery Roth, Sophia Baker, Ella Torode, and Dallas Whitehead won the “Outstanding Resolution” award.  We are so proud of how hard our Youth in Government students worked to stand out among hundreds of other high schoolers from Tennessee.  Keep an ear out for information on how to join our next Youth in Government conference in the spring!
